@X084@X05.@X0855 @X03 BOOK BOMBS
@X08Concealing a bomb can be extremely difficult in a day and age where
perpetrators of violence run wild@X05.@X08 Bags and briefcases are often searched
by authorities whenever one enters a place where an individual might intend
to set off a bomb@X05.@X08 One approach to disguising a bomb is to build what is
called a book bomb@X05;@X08 an explosive device that is entirely contained inside of
a book@X05.@X08 Usually@X05,@X08 a relatively large book is required@X05,@X08 and the book must be of
the hardback variety to hide any protrusions of a bomb@X05.@X08 Dictionaries@X05,@X08 law
books@X05,@X08 large textbooks@X05,@X08 and other such books work well@X05.@X08 When an individual
makes a bookbomb@X05,@X08 he@X05/@X08she must choose a type of book that is appropriate for
the place where the book bomb will be placed@X05.@X08 The actual construction of a
book bomb can be done by anyone who possesses an electric drill and a coping
saw@X05.@X08 First@X05,@X08 all of the pages of the book must be glued together@X05.@X08 By pouring
an entire container of water@X05-@X08soluble glue into a large bucket@X05,@X08 and filling
the bucket with boiling water@X05,@X08 a glue@X05-@X08water solution can be made that will
hold all of the book@X05'@X08s pages together tightly@X05.@X08 After the glue@X05-@X08water solution
has cooled to a bearable temperature@X05,@X08 and the solution has been stirred well@X05,@X08
the pages of the book must be immersed in the glue@X05-@X08water solution@X05,@X08 and each
page must be thoroughly soaked@X05.@X08 It is extremely important that the covers of
the book do not get stuck to the pages of the book while the pages are drying@X05.@X08
Suspending the book by both covers and clamping the pages together in a vice
works best@X05.@X08 When the pages dry@X05,@X08 after about three days to a week@X05,@X08 a hole must
be drilled into the now rigid pages@X05,@X08 and they should drill out much like wood@X05.@X08
Then@X05,@X08 by inserting the coping saw blade through the pages and sawing out a
rectangle from the middle of the book@X05,@X08 the individual will be left with a shell
of the book@X05'@X08s pages@X05.@X08 The pages@X05,@X08 when drilled out@X05,@X08 should look like this@X05:@X08

@X05(@X08book covers omitted@X05)@X08
This rectangle must be securely glued to the back cover of the book@X05.@X08
After building his@X05/@X08her bomb@X05,@X08 which usually is of the timer or radio controlled
variety@X05,@X08 the bomber places it inside the book@X05.@X08 The bomb itself@X05,@X08 and whatever
timer or detonator is used@X05,@X08 should be packed in foam to prevent it from rolling
or shifting about@X05.@X08 Finally@X05,@X08 after the timer is set@X05,@X08 or the radio control has
been turned on@X05,@X08 the front cover is glued closed@X05,@X08 and the bomb is taken to its
destination@X05.@X08
